The Alabama Dance Theatre Company offers selected dancers the opportunity to further their training through performance, rehearsal, and collaboration.

Company members are an integral part of ADT’s artistic season, bringing both classical and original works to life on stage.

A Performance Based-Training Experience

Company participation extends beyond the classroom, offering dancers the opportunity to apply their training in a professional rehearsal and performance setting.

Working closely with faculty and guest artists, dancers continue to develop technique, artistry, musicality, and stage presence through consistent, focused work.

Performance Opportunities

A full season for company members includes:

Two full-length productions

Learning original choreography

One Community performance

Membership in Regional Dance America/Southeast Festival

Commitment & Training

Dancers are expected to maintain consistent class attendance, participate fully in rehearsals, and approach their work with focus and discipline.

This experience is designed for students who are serious about their training and growth.

Preparing for the Next Step

Through performance and rehearsal experience, dancers gain skills that support both pre-professional pursuits and personal growth.

ADT alumni have gone on to pursue careers in dance, as well as succeed in a wide range of fields beyond the studio

Auditions

Company membership is by audition.

Auditions are held annually, with additional opportunities as needed. Placement is based on technical ability, commitment, and readiness for the demands of company participation.
