At Alabama Dance Theatre, our school nurtures, challenges, and inspires young dancers in a supportive and encouraging environment. Through a strong foundation in classical ballet alongside diverse dance styles, students build discipline, confidence, and artistry. The Alabama Dance Theatre Company provides dedicated dancers the opportunity to advance their training through performance, collaboration, and artistic growth. As ambassadors of the school, members refine their technique, build professionalism, and share their passion for dance through meaningful performance experiences.
Performances
Alabama Dance Theatre presents three performances each season, giving dancers the opportunity to perform in professionally produced productions. From beloved classics to thoughtfully crafted works, each performance is designed to inspire both artists and audiences. These experiences showcase the dedication of our dancers and reflect our commitment to excellence and the power of live performance.
ABOUT
Alabama Dance Theatre was established in 1986 by Founding Artistic Director Kitty Seale and has long been a cornerstone of arts education and performance in the River Region.
Now under the leadership of Artistic Director Kate Seale Smith, ADT enters its 41st year with a continued commitment to serving the community through dance. Rooted in classical ballet, the organization provides focused, high-quality training alongside meaningful performance opportunities that foster both technical excellence and artistic growth.
An Honor Company of Regional Dance America/Southeast since 1992, ADT upholds a standard of excellence that supports dancers at every stage of their development.
Through its school and student company, Alabama Dance Theatre cultivates disciplined, confident, and inspired artists—enriching both the individual and the community it serves.

TUTUS & TIARAS (AGES 3-7)

Welcome to our Tutus & Tiaras Summer Camp, where imagination sparkles and every little dancer is treated like royalty. Designed especially for our youngest movers, this magical week is filled with dancing, creativity, storytelling, and plenty of twirls.
HIP-HOP STARS CAMP (AGES 7-11)

Welcome to our Hip Hop Stars Summer Camp, where energy is high and confidence takes center stage. Designed for dancers ages 7–11, this exciting week is all about building skills, expressing individuality, and having an amazing time on the dance floor.

SUMMER INTENSIVE
JUNE 8-21
Welcome to our Summer Intensive, a dynamic two-week experience designed for dedicated dancers ready to grow and be challenged. Each day, dancers will dive into three specialized classes led by guest master teachers in a variety of disciplines, followed by focused rehearsals that build both technique and artistry. This immersive program fosters discipline, confidence, and a deeper love for the craft—all leading to a thrilling finale as dancers take the stage in our annual Stars on the Riverfront performance.
STARS ON THE RIVERFRONT
JUNE 20-21
Join us for Stars on the Riverfront, a beloved free community performance held at the Riverwalk Amphitheatre. Gather your family and friends, bring picnic baskets and blankets, and enjoy an evening of exceptional dancing under the stars. With food trucks on site and a beautiful outdoor setting, it’s the perfect way to celebrate summer and the joy of live performance together.
