Amelia Kate Skala

Senior Company

Amelia Kate Skala has been a member of the Alabama Dance Theatre since 2018. She is Elmore County’s Distinguished Young Woman, earning the Talent Award, Fitness Award, and Spirit Award in the program. She also received the Bruce Triftshauser Community Involvement Award and was a Top Five Talent Award recipient at the Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama competition.

Her training includes a scholarship to the Louisville Ballet Summer Intensive (2024) and attendance in 2023. In 2023, she was accepted into summer programs at Kansas City Ballet, Sarasota Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, Cincinnati Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Atlanta Ballet, Nashville Ballet, BalletMet, Colorado Ballet, Philadelphia Ballet, Texas Ballet Theatre, and Tulsa Ballet.   She has also trained at Houston Ballet (2022), Andalusia Ballet (2018, 2019, 2022), Alabama Ballet (2018-2022), and Sarasota Cuban Ballet (2019). She was accepted into Miami City Ballet (2019) and invited to train in the year-round program at International City School of Ballet (2021).

Her scholarships include Gus Giordano Jazz Chicago (2020), Huntsville Ballet (2020), Brenau University (2020), and a full scholarship to Terminus Modern Ballet (2020). She was also accepted to American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive (2020, 2021).

​

Her achievements include 2nd place in Senior High Dance at ACES (2022) and Honorable Mention in Junior Division (2020).
